SIX SIGMA ANALYSIS OVERVIEW

Axiologic Solutions is dedicated to empowering our clients by maximizing their efficiency, effectiveness and ultimately their performance. Our goal is not to impose a "cookie cutter" solution for each of our clients. Instead, our goal is to enable our government and commercial clients to customize their vision and strategies based upon the principles of Lean Six Sigma for service.

The application of a Lean Six Sigma approach, whether it's for a service based client or manufacturing business, will transform an organization and further help them to align their short term and long term goals to their strategies and overarching mission. This change does not happen over night, but over time, the results are significant and measurable. The principles of Lean Six Sigma for service enables our clients to identify and meet their requirements and needs by emphasizing the use of team work. Axiologic Solutions values continuous improvements where performance is being constantly evaluated as needed.

Depending on the scope of work, Axiologic Solutions will either employ the DMAIC or DMADV process. Where the DMAIC process is used for projects aimed at improving an existing business process and the DMADV is used for projects aimed at creating new product or process designs.

DMAIC Methodology

Define the problem, gather the voice of the customer, and the high level project goals.

Measure key aspects of the current process and collect relevant data.

Analyze the data to investigate and verify cause-and-effect relationships. Determine what the relationships are, and attempt to ensure that all factors have been considered. Seek out root cause of the defect under investigation.

Improve or optimize the current process based upon data analysis using techniques such as design of experiments, poka yoke or mistake proofing, and standard work to create a new, future state process.

Control the future state process to ensure that any deviations from target are corrected before they result in defects. Implement control systems such as statistical process control, production boards, visual workplaces, and continuously monitor the process.

DMADV Methodology

Define design goals that are consistent with customer demands and the enterprise strategy.

Measure and identify CTQs (characteristics that are Critical To Quality), product capabilities, production process capability, and risks.

Analyze to develop and design alternatives, create a high-level design and evaluate design capability to select the best design.

Design details, optimize the design, and plan for design verification. This phase may require simulations.

Verify the design, set up pilot runs, implement the production process and hand it over to the process owner(s).
